Cake Care Instructions

Please ensure that you read the information carefully as we at Amy's Bake Away cannot be held liable for damaged items caused by incorrect handling and transportation, once the purchase has been handed over to the customer.

Handling & Transportation 

All boxes should be held upright, steady and level to avoid decorations from falling off, or a cupcake from toppling over.

Please try to avoid bumpy roads and set cake boxes on a flat, non-slip surface if you are transporting by car!

Please try to avoid leaving your item outside the refrigerator for longer than 30 minutes (or around 15 minutes in warm weather) as long drives can cause the icing to soften.

Cutting the Cake

Before slicing your cake, remove any candles, decorations, cake dowels, and sugar paste plaques (if any).

Mark the cake into 1-inch sections and place a chopping board next to the cake

 

Using the chopping board and your knife for support to lay down the sliced row of cake. Cut into long sections

 

f your cake is 6 inches or taller, cut each section in half.


Use a palette knife or cake slice lifter to remove your slice from the cake board.

Serve and enjoy!

Storage

Please transfer your cakes into the fridge as soon as possible, and keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources. 

Cupcakes can be stored in a cool dark room away from sunlight.

Dietary & Allergen Information

All our products are baked and prepared in our dedicated kitchen facilities which handle Celery, Gluten (Wheat), Crustaceans, Egg, Fish, Milk, Mustard, Nuts, Peanuts, Sesame Seeds, Soya and Sulphur Dioxide and may contain traces.

All cakes taste best when eaten at room temperature on the day they are purchased. 

Items on top of the cakes can be highly flammable so we strongly recommend tall candles only. These can be purchased from us too.


We advise taking the cake out of the refrigerator one to two hours before serving it for optimal flavour and a soft, moist texture. Simply leave the cake sponge out for a little while longer if it still seems hard. This indicates that it hasn't reached room temperature.

Non-edible Decorations

Your order may include non-edible decorations or components like figurines, cake dowels, or cocktail sticks. Please be careful to take them out before slicing and serving the cake. If you have any questions, contact us at info@amys-bake-away.com
